The cochlear implant champion scheme was created by BCIG and the BAA Service Quality Committee at the BAA conference 2019. The aim of the scheme is to ensure all eligible adults and children, and their families, are well-informed about cochlear implants and are offered a timely referral. The Mentor
Petrina Checkland is the cochlear implant scheme mentor at the Midlands Hearing Implant Programme. Please don’t hesitate to contact her as needed for support or advice. Emails can be forwarded to the mentor via the implant programmes general audiology email address.
