Before agreeing a request

Homeworking must not commence until a satisfactory work environment has been confirmed. Prior to homeworking commencing staff must have completed and submitted the documents listed in the ‘Homeworking request process’ section:

Note: Where a risk assessment identifies unresolvable significant risks as part of homeworking, advice should be sought from HR. Please note in some instances homeworking may not be able to be approved. 

Managers should also ensure that staff have read and are familiar with the information governance procedure, please see this section for more information:

Managers and staff should agreed methods of communication, e.g. telephone, email, online messaging, video calling and how frequently communication will take place when working from home.
